Here's my very rough storyboard for the litter story.
| 1 |
 |
A chap walks towards camera (and right) eating
a banana. |
| 1a |
 |
Same shot. As he gets nearer he finishes the banana and looks
around (cursorily) for a bin. There isn't one around, so he
just throws the skin behind him. |
| 2 |
 |
The skin drops to the ground. |
| 3 |
 |
An attractive young lady comes from the same direction. |
| 3a |
 |
She sees the skin. |
| 4 |
 |
|
| 5 |
 |
She calls to him: "Hey." |
| 6 |
 |
He turns. |
| 6a |
 |
Sees her. |
| 7 |
 |
Very pretty. |
| 8 |
 |
Starts walking towards her. |
| 9 |
 |
The key shot - boot meets skin. |
| 10 |
 |
He drops out of frame. |
| 11 |
 |
She starts forward. |
| 12 |
 |
And, instead of comforting him, she picks up
the banan skin. |
| 13 |
 |
Dumps it in a bin. |
| 14 |
 |
The message. |

And the reminder of what happens if you litter! |
That may seem like a lot of work, but look closely
and you realise that shots 1, 3, 5 ,7 and 11 are all basically
the same shot. Even if you don't shoot them as one take, the camera
remains in the same place for them.
The same goes for 2, 4 and 9.
Ditto shots 6, 8 and 10.
Shots 12 and 15 can be taken from the same camera
position;14 can be continuous from 13 if you allow a zoom, and...
I've reduced the work to five shots!
You can see the result on the next page. |
